
PROJECT: Development of Tourist marinas in the Aegean and Ionian Seas
CLIENT: Ministry of Finance.

Technical and Financial Consultants to the Hellenic Ministry of Finance for the
development of tourist marinas, yacht shelters and repair/dry-berth
installations in the Aegean and Ionian Sea.
The Consultant's tasks included:
• Review the proposed engineering design of infrastructure works for a number of
marinas in the Greek islands with the aim to optimize their operations.
• Identify any outstanding harbour works that have to be implemented.
• Establish building requirements (administration, commercial, utilities,
warehouses, storage, first aids, entertainment etc.)
• Identify the min required appurtenance (floating piers, anchoring systems,
fenders etc.).
• Determine basic facilities (electromechanical installations, water and
electricity supplies, fire fighting, signaling, alarms and public announcement
systems, bunkering, telephone, disposal of oil and sewage), as well as,
pollution control and prevention measures.
• Check & certify the budget of the proposed works.
• Propose procedures for the optimization of the marinas' operations.
• Prepare technical specifications and identify tender requirements.
Major
projects included: Marinas at the islands of Thasos, Syros, Mykonos, Rhodes,
Argostoli, Ikaria.
Tourist yatch shelters at Moundros Limnos, Plomari Lesvos, Karlovasi Samos,
Kalymnos, Tsoutsoura Crete, Vathy Ithaka, Ag. Efthimia Cephalonia, Amorgos,
Gavdos, Kithira and Boat storage and repair yard at Rhodes.
