PROJECT: NOVOROSSIYSK GRAIN TERMINAL
CLIENT: EUROPEAN BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Services were provided In a joint venture with ADK S.A of Greece.

Scope of work was to identify and mobilize private sector investment as well as export credit and/or commercial financing for the Novorossiysk Port, Grain Handling Terminal.
The project's objectives were:

  1. Carry out a preliminary technical assessment of the proposed investment plan (including preliminary environmental assessment).

  2. Legal Due Diligence and modeling of the financial structure of the project, review of the most likely finance options.

  3. Establish a list of potential Investors.

  4. Prepare the Project's Information Memorandum and distribute it to selected potential investors. Establish a Project Promotion & Information Bureau for the purposes of disseminating information relevant to the project.

In order to achieve the above objectives the study extended to the following detail tasks:

  1. General review of the grain sector: grain import-export trends, state procurement activities and private grain marketing, grain production prospects and
    grain consumption patterns

  2. Grain transport analysis: Hinterland operations, demand estimation

  3. Technical analysis: Preliminary technical design, assessment of necessary investment costs, implementation schedule

  4. Environmental Analysis: Examination of key environmental issues and potential impacts, public consultation, basic mitigation measures, legislative and managerial issues

  5. Economic and financial analysis: Methodology, capital investment analysis,
    sources of funds and ownership costs, operating expenses, operating revenues, financial performance

  6. Legal issues: Investment structuring, issues for foreign investors.
