viotia.jpg (35870 bytes)ADK and TRITON Consulting Engineers undertook the complete design of the port infrastructure works for the Hellenic Alumina Industry at Domvrena, Greece. The harbour works comprised two marine terminals; one for bulk cargo handling (loading alumina and unloading bauxite) and the other for liquid handling (oil products, bunkering and caustic soda).

The alumina wharf with a total length of 207 m. can accommodate large bulk carriers, while the bauxite wharf has a total length of 180 m. The 90 m long oil terminal is designed to accommodate tankers up to 20,000 DWT.

A number of tank farms, alumina silos, transfer pipelines, a pump booster station, ore and grain handling equipment and a number of administration and maintenance buildings were also included in the design

A critical path analysis was used for scheduling activities. An environmental analysis helped assess the impact of the project to the ecosystem of Domvrena bay. The Consultants also provided technical assistance and advisory services during construction together with the project management in certain specialized fields. The project is under construction
