Foundation
design of the Arkitsa - Ag. Konstantinos 10 Km section of the Athens - Thessaloniki
National Motorway together with structural works (bridges, aqueducts, culverts). The
design contract was awarded in 1994, completed on 1995 and included geological survey
and geotechnical investigation.
The foundation design of the roadworks relied heavily on application of advanced foundation techniques i.e. extensive usage of plastic drains, over weak clayey soils bored cast insitu piling etc.
