PPC OFFSHORE OIL UNLOADING FACILITY
CONSTRUCTION COST : 4 million US $
CLIENT : PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION OF GREECE

Design of an offshore oil terminal in Crete.
The project involves the construction of an unloading platform and two breasting dolphins to accommodate up to 15,000 DWT fully laden or 20,000 DWT semi-laden tankers at a depth of -12.50m. The platform and the dolphins comprise a steel jacket through the legs of which steel piles are driven in the seabed loose surface layer down to the rock sublayer. The superstructure is a concrete slab bearing the fendering system. The platform is connected to the shore through a steel gangway supported on steel jacketed piles at spans of 48.0 meters. The design involves the entire electrical and mechanical equipment including loading arms, manifolds, slops tanks, valves, pipelines, fire fighting systems and a comprehensive environmental protection system.
