"LONG-TERM SLOPE STABILITY STUDY IN CORINTH CANAL"

STARTING – COMPLETION DATE: 09/1999 - 05/2002

The Consultant's tasks included:

• Determination of the short-term and long-term earth-retaining measures for the protection of the slopes.
• Specialization of the above measures and determination of the necessary works.
• Elaboration of the project’s Technical Specifications.
• Monitoring, checking and evaluation of the results and formulation of an overall proposal for the restoration of the stability of the slopes.
• Systematic concentration, processing and evaluation of the existing geotechnical studies and surveys, as well as of the earthquake data in the greater area of the project.
• Parametric investigation of the slope stability for parameters such as rainfall, ground water, earthquake forces, environmental factors, loss of soil strength etc).
• Determination of high-risk areas as well as of the immediate protection measures against a possible rockfall.
• Preparation of the Tender Documents
