CONSTRUCTION COST : US$ 0.75 million
CLIENT : EKOTA KOS
Design of a mooring system for 2,800 DWT tankers at Kos island. The
conventional mooring system comprises three steel buoys of 2.5m diameter by 1.3m long
arranged around the bow of the ship at depths of -8.0m and anchored to the sea bottom by
50mm diameter chains and 6,000 pound anchors. The design included the installation of two
6inch diameter pipelines 565m and 545m long respectively with HDPE coating and a 6 inch
diameter steel sewage pipeline. The connection between the two steel pipelines and the
ship's manifold is achieved via submarine rubber hoses.
