The purpose of the ground investigation works was to verify the soil conditions in the projects foundation area and especially:
• The verification of the stratigraphy of the area, meaning the depth and thickness of each soil layer under the soil surface.
• The determination of the physical and mechanical characteristics of the soil and the complete investigation of the geotechnical conditions.
For the implementation of the above the following were executed:
a. Nine (9) sampling boreholes in the project area along with the necessary
in situ tests.
b. Laboratory tests on selected and representative samples.
