PROJECT: NOVOROSSIYSK TIMBER AND CONTAINER TERMINAL Technical and financial consulting
services on behalf of “Black Sea Trade and Development Bank” (Lender) for the
investment of N.L.E (Borrower) for the reconstruction and modernization of the
existing piers and adjacent onshore facilities at the port of Novorossiysk,
Russia in order to operate as a combined container and timber handling and
storage terminal. The project included reconstruction and extension of the two
loading piers together with their load handling equipment. Infrastructure
onshore works included pavement areas for container stacking, open and covered
timber storage facilities, administration, maintenance and storage buildings,
road and rail track refurbishment etc. The investment also included repair and
modernization works for the signaling & control facilities of the terminal’s
railway network, as well as an extensive drainage system works for flood
protection. The consulting services included a review of the feasibility study,
assessment of the Business Plan and the Investment program, evaluation of
assets, design review of proposed infrastructure works, examination of quality
control procedures and financial review of the construction works under
progress.
