Construction of a new grain terminal at the mouth of Danube canal in port of Constanta, Romania, with a capacity of 100,000t of bulk storage in ten separate silos. The project involved facilities for handling road and rail freight, as well as loading and unloading systems for barges and ships. TRITON's monitoring services to EBRD, prior to project commencements included: engineering design reviews, tender evaluation, examination and endorsement of contracts. Tasks during construction included overseeing procurement procedures of materials and equipment, auditing supervision procedures, assessing the implementation of the Environmental Action Plan and ultimately overseeing the commissioning of the facilities. Following the project's completion, TRITON's monitoring tasks were extended for 7 more years (until 2007) to include the financial and technical overview of the project’s operations with semi annual site visits and quarterly Reports on the financial, environmental and maintenance performance of the terminal. The EPH terminal’s throughput is currently 1,000,000 tons/year approximately.
