MOORING SYSTEM AND SUBMARINE OIL PIPELINE FOR MOBIL OIL AT SALONIKI BAY

saloniki.jpg (27886 bytes)Design of a mooring system for tankers of up to 8,000 DWT at Saloniki Bay.  The conventional mooring system comprises three steel buoys of 3.2m diameter by 2.2 m long arranged around the bow of the ship at depths of -14.00 m anchored to the sea bottom by 56 m diameter chains and 10,000 pound anchors. The design of the installation of a 680m long submarine diesel pipeline 8 inches diameter with HDPE coating was also carried out. The connection between the pipeline and the ship's manifold is effected by means of submarine rubber hoses.
