Rehabilitation of the Berbera Oil Jetty
Commission of the European Community - Somalia Unit.
The
project involved consultancy services to the EC Somalia Unit in the field of preparing the
high priority rehabilitation works to be urgently implemented at the Berbera Port Oil
Jetty. Services provided include on site trip by a team of experts and field survey
for assessing not only the condition of the structure but also the local economic and
financial situation in order to justify the works. A comparative study of possible
alternative technical solutions taking into account local conditions, selection of optimum
alternative and in depth evaluation of suitable anticorrosive systems, was carried out.
