MOORING SYSTEM FOR A CABLE SHIP AT STILIDA

Design and supervision of the construction of a mooring system comprising 4 steel buoys 2.50 m in diameter by 1.35 m long for mooring of the cable ship "Thalis" of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation, at Agia Marina Stylida (Maliakos Gulf).

The buoys are anchored to the sea bottom via 50mm diameter chains and 4,000 kilogram anchors. The fibre optic passing through a submarine polyethylene pipeline is loaded from a floating platform onto the cable ship "Thalis".
